A., LL. B. COURSE<\/h3>\n<div class=\"siteorigin-widget-tinymce textwidget\">\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><div id=\"panel-543-0-0-1\" class=\"so-panel widget widget_sow-editor\" data-index=\"1\" ><div\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\tclass=\"so-widget-sow-editor so-widget-sow-editor-base\"\n\t\t\t\n\t\t>\n<div class=\"siteorigin-widget-tinymce textwidget\">\n\t<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Vice Chancellor of the Karnataka State Law University, Hubballi makes the following Regulations under Section 86 read with Section 34 (2) (ii) and Section 49 of the\u00a0Karnataka State Law University Act, 2009.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><div id=\"panel-543-0-0-2\" class=\"so-panel widget widget_sow-editor\" data-index=\"2\" ><div\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\tclass=\"so-widget-sow-editor so-widget-sow-editor-base\"\n\t\t\t\n\t\t>\n<div class=\"siteorigin-widget-tinymce textwidget\">\n\t<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">01 Title<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">These Regulations may be called as \u201cthe Karnataka State Law University\u2019s Regulations Governing the Five Year B. A., LL. B. Integrated Degree Course in Law\u201d.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><div id=\"panel-543-0-0-3\" class=\"so-panel widget widget_sow-editor\" data-index=\"3\" ><div\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\tclass=\"so-widget-sow-editor so-widget-sow-editor-base\"\n\t\t\t\n\t\t>\n<div class=\"siteorigin-widget-tinymce textwidget\">\n\t<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">02 Extent<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">These Regulations extend to all University Law Colleges, Departments of Studies in Law and all affiliated Law Colleges within the jurisdiction of the Karnataka State Law University which are accorded permission to start Five Year Integrated Degree Course in Law.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><div id=\"panel-543-0-0-4\" class=\"so-panel widget widget_sow-editor\" data-index=\"4\" ><div\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\tclass=\"so-widget-sow-editor so-widget-sow-editor-base\"\n\t\t\t\n\t\t>\n<div class=\"siteorigin-widget-tinymce textwidget\">\n\t<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">03 Commencements<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">These Regulations shall come into force from the beginning of the academic year 2009-10.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><div id=\"panel-543-0-0-5\" class=\"so-panel widget widget_sow-editor\" data-index=\"5\" ><div\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\tclass=\"so-widget-sow-editor so-widget-sow-editor-base\"\n\t\t\t\n\t\t>\n<div class=\"siteorigin-widget-tinymce textwidget\">\n\t<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">04 Definitions<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul style=\"font-size: 15px; color: #000; font-family: \"Poppins\", sans-serif;\">\n<li>(a) \u201cIntegrated Degree Course in Law\u201d means double degree course comprising the bachelor degree in arts prosecuted simultaneously with the degree course in law in an integrated manner as designed by the University from time to time for a continuous period of not less than five years.<\/li>\n<li>(b) In these Regulations, the expressions, \u201cUniversity\u201d, \u201cUniversity Area\u201d, \u201cCollege\u201d, \u201cAffiliated College\u201d, \u201cDepartment\u201d,\u201cDepartment of Studies\u201d, \u201cPost Graduate Department\u201d, \u201cPost Graduate Department of Studies\u201d, \u201cTeachers\u201d, \u201cUniversity\u201d,\u201cUniversity Area\u201d, \u201cUniversity College\u201d and \u201cPrincipal\u201d bear the same meaning\/s as assigned under Section 2 of the <em>Karnataka State Law University Act, 2009.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><div id=\"panel-543-0-0-6\" class=\"so-panel widget widget_sow-editor\" data-index=\"6\" ><div\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\tclass=\"so-widget-sow-editor so-widget-sow-editor-base\"\n\t\t\t\n\t\t>\n<div class=\"siteorigin-widget-tinymce textwidget\">\n\t<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">05 The Course &amp; Duration<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul style=\"font-size: 15px; color: #000; font-family: \"Poppins\", sans-serif;\">\n<li>(a) B. A., LL. B. integrated double degree course combines Bachelors\u2019 degree course in Arts together with the Bachelors\u2019 degree course in law.<\/li>\n<li>(b) The duration of the B. A., LL. B. course shall be five academic years consisting of ten semesters.<\/li>\n<li>(c) Each Academic Year shall be divided into two Semesters.<\/li>\n<li>(d) Each Semester shall consist of 18 weeks.<\/li>\n<li>(e) The papers and the syllabus shall be as given in the Schedule appended to these Regulations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><div id=\"panel-543-0-0-7\" class=\"so-panel widget widget_sow-editor\" data-index=\"7\" ><div\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\tclass=\"so-widget-sow-editor so-widget-sow-editor-base\"\n\t\t\t\n\t\t>\n<div class=\"siteorigin-widget-tinymce textwidget\">\n\t<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">06 Instructions &amp; Training<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul style=\"font-size: 15px; color: #000; font-family: \"Poppins\", sans-serif;\">\n<li>(a) Instructions and training for the course shall be not less than 30 class-hours per week including tutorials, moot room exercise and seminars provided there shall be at least 24 lecture hours per week.<\/li>\n<li>(b) There shall be for each paper four class hours of one hour duration each and one hour of tutorial\/moot court\/project work per week.<\/li>\n<li>(c) Each registered student shall have completed minimum of 20 weeks of internship during the entire period of legal studies under NGO, Trial and Appellate Advocates, Judiciary, Legal Regulatory authorities, Legislatures and Parliament, other Legal Functionaries, Market Institutions, Law Firms, Companies and Local Self Government.<\/li>\n<li>(d) The internship in any year cannot be for a continuous period of more than Four Weeks and all students shall at least gone through once in the entire academic period with Trial and Appellate Advocates.<\/li>\n<li>(e) Each student shall keep internship diary in the form stipulated by the University and the same shall be evaluated by the Guide in Internship and also a Core Faculty member of the staff each time. The total mark shall be assessed in the Final Semester of the course in the 4th Clinical course as stipulated under the Schedule appended to these Regulations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Explanation<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A College or Department shall be deemed to be working whole time if the working time of the College or University Department extends to at least eight hours continuously on every working day comprising of class room teaching of four periods, each period being of one hour duration and the remaining four hours devoted to clinical, curricular and co-curricular activities.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><div id=\"panel-543-0-0-8\" class=\"so-panel widget widget_sow-editor\" data-index=\"8\" ><div\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\tclass=\"so-widget-sow-editor so-widget-sow-editor-base\"\n\t\t\t\n\t\t>\n<div class=\"siteorigin-widget-tinymce textwidget\">\n\t<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">07 Eligibility Criteria For Admission<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul style=\"font-size: 15px; color: #000; font-family: \"Poppins\", sans-serif;\">\n<li>An applicant who has successful completed Pre-University course or Senior Secondary School Course (\u2018+2\u2019) or equivalent such as (11+1, \u2018A\u2019 level in Senior School Leaving Certificate Course) from a recognized by the Union or by the State Government or from any equivalent institution from a foreign country recognized by the government of that country for the purpose of issue of qualifying certificate on successful completion of the course, may apply for and be admitted into the course.<\/li>\n<li>Minimum percentage of marksin qualifying examination shall not be below 45% (44.5% and above shall be treated as 45%) of total marks in case of General category applicants, 42% (41.5% and above shall be treated as 42%) for OBC category and 40% (39.5% and above shall be treated as 40%) of total marks in case of SC and ST applicants.<\/li>\n<li>Maximum agefor seeking admission is limited to 20 yrs (twenty years) in case of General category of applicants and to 22 yrs (twenty two years) in the case of applicants from SC, ST and Other Backward Communities as on 25<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0April, 2019.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul style=\"font-size: 15px; color: #000; font-family: \"Poppins\", sans-serif;\">\n<li>A Writ Petition (civil) No. 1023\/2016 pending before the Supreme Court of India regarding the maximum age limit prescribed for admission. The admission of the students who have crossed the age limit is subject to the outcome of the said writ petition. In this regard, college has to obtain an undertaking from the students who have crossed the age limit in the proforma enclosed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Explanation:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Provide that the applicants who have obtained +2 Higher Secondary Pass Certificate of First Degree Certificate after prosecuting studies in distance or correspondence method shall also be considered as eligible for admission to the Law Course.<\/p>\n<p>Provided further that the applicants who have obtained 10+2 or graduation or post-graduation through open Universities system directly without having any basic qualification for prosecuting such studies are not eligible for admission to the Law course.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><div id=\"panel-543-0-0-9\" class=\"so-panel widget widget_sow-editor\" data-index=\"9\" ><div\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\tclass=\"so-widget-sow-editor so-widget-sow-editor-base\"\n\t\t\t\n\t\t>\n<div class=\"siteorigin-widget-tinymce textwidget\">\n\t<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">08 Admission Procedure<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul style=\"font-size: 15px; color: #000; font-family: \"Poppins\", sans-serif;\">\n<li>Admission to the course shall be made strictly on the basis of the merit. While making admission to the course reservation policy of the Government of Karnataka governing admissions to higher educational institutions issued from time to time shall be observed.<\/li>\n<li>2 seats under supernumerary quota shall be reserved for the Jammu and Kashmir students within the sanctioned intake until the last date of admission as per the orders of Govt. of India.<\/li>\n<li>5% of seats shall be reserved for the Kashmiri Migrants until the last date of admission as per the orders of Govt. of India, Dept. of HRD, New-Delhi. The persons claiming the status of Kasmiri Migrants should produce the identity card issued by the Jurisdictional Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate of the Government of Karnataka to this effect.<\/li>\n<li>Reservation for Hyderabad- Karnataka students under Art 371(J) as per rules shall be adhered to 8% of the seats shall be reserved for them.<\/li>\n<li>3% of seats shall be reserved for physically challenged students as per rules applicable.<\/li>\n<li>5% of seats shall be reserved for Gadinadu\/Horanadu Kannadiga (Those studied 1 to 10 std. in kannada medium from the outside Karnataka state)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><div id=\"panel-543-0-0-10\" class=\"so-panel widget widget_sow-editor\" data-index=\"10\" ><div\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\tclass=\"so-widget-sow-editor so-widget-sow-editor-base\"\n\t\t\t\n\t\t>\n<div class=\"siteorigin-widget-tinymce textwidget\">\n\t<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">09 Intakes<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul style=\"font-size: 15px; color: #000; font-family: \"Poppins\", sans-serif;\">\n<li>(a) No College or Department of Studies in Law authorized to impart education in the B. A., LL. B. course shall admit more than60 students in one division.<\/li>\n<li>(b) The University shall reserve the right to prescribe the number of divisions in each Law College or the Department of Studies in Law.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><div id=\"panel-543-0-0-11\" class=\"so-panel widget widget_sow-editor\" data-index=\"11\" ><div\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\tclass=\"so-widget-sow-editor so-widget-sow-editor-base\"\n\t\t\t\n\t\t>\n<div class=\"siteorigin-widget-tinymce textwidget\">\n\t<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">10 Tution and Other Fees<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Candidate seeking admission to the Five Year B. A., LL. B. degree course and those admitted to such course shall pay the tuition and other fees as prescribed by the University from time to time.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><div id=\"panel-543-0-0-12\" class=\"so-panel widget widget_sow-editor\" data-index=\"12\" ><div\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\tclass=\"so-widget-sow-editor so-widget-sow-editor-base\"\n\t\t\t\n\t\t>\n<div class=\"siteorigin-widget-tinymce textwidget\">\n\t<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">11 Curricula<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul style=\"font-size: 15px; color: #000; font-family: \"Poppins\", sans-serif;\">\n<li>(a) Candidates admitted to the Five Year B. A., LL. B. course shall have to attend 10 Semester courses spread over 5 years.<\/li>\n<li>(b) In each Semester, the students shall have to study the courses prescribed by the University in these Regulations.<\/li>\n<li>(c) The course descriptions shall be, as set out from time to time, in the Schedule.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><div id=\"panel-543-0-0-13\" class=\"so-panel widget widget_sow-editor\" data-index=\"13\" ><div\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\tclass=\"so-widget-sow-editor so-widget-sow-editor-base\"\n\t\t\t\n\t\t>\n<div class=\"siteorigin-widget-tinymce textwidget\">\n\t<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">12 Medium of Instruction<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The medium of instruction in the Five Year B. A., LL. B. degree course shall be English. However, the examinees shall have the option to answer the question papers in the examination either in English or in Kannada.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><div id=\"panel-543-0-0-14\" class=\"so-panel widget widget_sow-editor\" data-index=\"14\" ><div\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\tclass=\"so-widget-sow-editor so-widget-sow-editor-base\"\n\t\t\t\n\t\t>\n<div class=\"siteorigin-widget-tinymce textwidget\">\n\t<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">13 Attendance<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>No student shall be permitted to appear for the end-of-semester examination in a given course unless he\/she has, to the satisfaction of the course teacher, fulfilled the course requirements and has put in not less than 70% attendance in the course concerned.<\/p>\n<p>Provided that a student who has attended not less than 65% of classes in each of the subjects prescribed may be permitted to keep the term for reasons to be recorded in writing and to the satisfaction of the Principal of the College or the Dean of the Faculty as the case may be.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><div id=\"panel-543-0-0-15\" class=\"so-panel widget widget_sow-editor\" data-index=\"15\" ><div\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\tclass=\"so-widget-sow-editor so-widget-sow-editor-base\"\n\t\t\t\n\t\t>\n<div class=\"siteorigin-widget-tinymce textwidget\">\n\t<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">14 Prohibition Against Lateral Entry & Exit<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>There shall be no lateral entry on the plea of graduation in any subject or exit by way of awarding a degree splitting the integrated double degree course, at any intermediary stage of integrated double degree course.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><div id=\"panel-543-0-0-16\" class=\"so-panel widget widget_sow-editor\" data-index=\"16\" ><div\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\tclass=\"so-widget-sow-editor so-widget-sow-editor-base\"\n\t\t\t\n\t\t>\n<div class=\"siteorigin-widget-tinymce textwidget\">\n\t<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">15 Promotion<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul style=\"font-size: 15px; color: #000; font-family: \"Poppins\", sans-serif;\">\n<li>(a) No student shall be promoted to the next year of the course unless he\/she has passed in a minimum of two subjects in each semester.<\/li>\n<li>(b) Students are required to successfully complete the entire course within eight years from admission to the course.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><div id=\"panel-543-0-0-17\" class=\"so-panel widget widget_sow-editor\" data-index=\"17\" ><div\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\tclass=\"so-widget-sow-editor so-widget-sow-editor-base\"\n\t\t\t\n\t\t>\n<div class=\"siteorigin-widget-tinymce textwidget\">\n\t<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">16 Award of the Degree<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A student shall be eligible for the award of the B. A., LL. B. (Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws) Degree after he\/she has successfully completed all the prescribed courses in all the semesters and his or her character and conduct are found to be satisfactory during the course.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><div id=\"panel-543-0-0-18\" class=\"so-panel widget widget_sow-editor\" data-index=\"18\" ><div\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\tclass=\"so-widget-sow-editor so-widget-sow-editor-base\"\n\t\t\t\n\t\t>\n<div class=\"siteorigin-widget-tinymce textwidget\">\n\t<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">17 Award of Classes<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The award of classes shall be as under:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"font-size: 15px; color: #000; font-family: \"Poppins\", sans-serif;\">\n<li>a) 70% and more First Class with Distinction<\/li>\n<li>b) 60% and above but less than 70% First Class<\/li>\n<li>c) 50% and above but less than 60% Second Class<\/li>\n<li>d) 40% and above but less than 50% Pass Class<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><div id=\"panel-543-0-0-19\" class=\"so-panel widget widget_sow-editor\" data-index=\"19\" ><div\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\tclass=\"so-widget-sow-editor so-widget-sow-editor-base\"\n\t\t\t\n\t\t>\n<div class=\"siteorigin-widget-tinymce textwidget\">\n\t<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">18 Removal of Difficulty<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If any difficulty arises in giving effect to the provisions of this Regulation the Vice Chancellor may by order of notification do anything which appears to him necessary for the purpose of removing the difficulty.<\/p>\n<p>Every such order so notified shall as soon as may be after its notification, be laid before the Academic Council and Syndicate for approval.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><div id=\"panel-543-0-0-20\" class=\"so-panel widget widget_sow-editor\" data-index=\"20\" ><div\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\tclass=\"so-widget-sow-editor so-widget-sow-editor-base\"\n\t\t\t\n\t\t>\n<div class=\"siteorigin-widget-tinymce textwidget\">\n\t<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">19 The necessary documents by the Applicant to the college, a below.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul style=\"font-size: 15px; color: #000; font-family: \"Poppins\", sans-serif;\">\n<li>The Eligibility Certificate issued by the University, in case of Non-Karnataka and Foreign students 5 year B.A.LL.B at the time of admission.<\/li>\n<li>10<sup>th\u00a0<\/sup>Marks Card &amp; P.U.C.\/12<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0Std\/H.S.C. or any equivalent examination Marks cards in case of 5 year B.A. LL.B. admission, at the time of admission.<\/li>\n<li>In case of SC\/ST\/Cat-1\/OBC student, Caste &amp; Income Certificate shall be submitted by student to the college at the time of admission.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><div id=\"panel-543-0-0-21\" class=\"so-panel widget widget_sow-editor\" data-index=\"21\" ><div\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\tclass=\"so-widget-sow-editor so-widget-sow-editor-base\"\n\t\t\t\n\t\t>\n<div class=\"siteorigin-widget-tinymce textwidget\">\n\t<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Courses prescribed for 5 Year B.A.LL.B.
